This large black male dog with white on his back toes and an orange collar was found around 6th & Main this morning. Dog was turned over to the Halstead Police Department and was then taken and released to Caring Hands Humane Society. The Halstead burn site will remained closed to the public through Sunday, March 23rd. The closure is due to the forecast winds and fire danger predicted by the National Weather Service which will move in on Tuesday night and continue over the next several days. Staff will reevaluate the conditions on Monday, March 24th and provide an update on the status of access for disposal of brush by Halstead residents.
